This week task is to find 2 font poster based on my favorite fonts. Many fonts that are good and nice but for me, simplicity and elegant are what matters.
1. Baskerville Old Face
2. ITC Avant Garde
1. Baskerville Old Face
Baskerville is a serif typeface designed in the 1750s by John Baskerville in Birmingham. This is the first font that I use for so long rather than Arial and Times New Roman for writing letter or assignments. This font is simple, neat and classy looking. It look high standard and if I use it as logo typography for a product, it would look expensive.
2. ITC Avant Garde
Designed by Herb Lubalin and Tom Carnase on 1970s, ITC Avant Garde is a geometric sans serif font family based on the logo font used in the Avant Garde magazine. It has a stylish looks and neat, when I look at the font, I feels like reading a magazine or seeing a branded product logo. It is a great logo to use since it have a modern looks and also look expensive in any ways.
Typography is really important!
There are 3 reasons why typography is important.
1. COMPREHENSION
Typography can make the process of understanding and comprehending information effortless.
2. FOCUS
Well-formatted copy will make sure the reader's focus is on the content and not wasted on effort trying to read it.
3. HIERARCHY
Typography can help make the most important elements stand out (size, color, style).
