Hi, how's it going guys? This week, my task is to design and display my artwork for my name font poster. So here it is.
The elements of design I used in this poster is Line, Shape, Size, Colour and Value (Contrast). As for the line, we can see there are two lines above and below the alphabets. Shape, we can see triangle and rectangle shapes in the design. For the size, we can see variety of sizes from big which is the "N" letter, to medium and small. There are three colors used in the poster, light red, yellow and dark blue. Last but not least is value or contrast. There are bright color and also dark color combination, like the blue background is dark, the red is brighter, the letter "N" in yellow is between bright and dark and of course the alphabets which in the white color.
Throughout the process of executing the project, I studied about the font better, I never knew who is the creator of the font and when is it created before but now I know info about it. Helvetica also known as Neue Haas Grotesk is a widely used sans-serif typeface developed in 1957 by Swiss typeface designer Max Miedinger with input from Eduard Hoffmann.
I need to highlight the letter "N" so I need to make it bigger and so I need think where I wanted to place it and also how to make it attractive. I ended up placing the "N" at the center and stretch the both tail of the "N" to make it look like above poster. Now that I have space below the "N", I can put the alphabets there. Then, I need to choose colors for the poster which is not a simple task, I choose the primary colors which is red, blue and yellow. Red and yellow is bright, so I decide to make the blue darker. Done.
